Here are two free internet resources that might help you find your ideal landing place!
The first is Zip Lookup. If you've ever wondered what kind of people live in a neighborhood, just plug in a zip code and this site pulls from a huge database to help describe the people that live in that area. Try it out first on your own zip code. I found the descriptions to be delightfully accurate!
The second is Address Report. This marvelous site seeks to bust through all that sales puffery you see in the ads and tell you what the house and neighborhood are REALLY like. Plug in an address and Address Report scours tax records, sales records, neighborhood demographics, transportation and a very cool life-style section showing the yelp reviews of businesses in that area. Tres chic!
